Ambassador to Greece Zou Xiaoli Presents His Credentials to President Karolos Papoulias

On January 22, 2014, H.E. Zou Xiaoli, Chinese Ambassador to Greece presented his credentials to President Karolos Papoulias in Greek Presidential Mansion. Secretary General of Greek Presidency Konstantinos Georgiou, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece and others attended the credentials-presenting ceremony.

Later on, President Karolos Papoulias had a cordial meeting with Ambassador Zou.

Ambassador Zou firstly conveyed the warm regards and New Year’s wishes from President Xi Jinping to President Papoulias. President Papoulias expressed his thanks for this and asked Ambassador Zou to convey his best wishes to President Xi.

President Papoulias said that both Greece and China are ancient civilizations and the two peoples hold friendly feelings toward each other. The Chinese government and people are carrying out a remarkable undertaking of reform and development while the Greek side is also trying to revitalize the economy. Both sides can enhance cooperation so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples and jointly safeguarded world peace. Greece now is in its turn of EU presidency and is willing to play a positive role in pushing forward the development of EU-China ties.

Ambassador Zou said that China attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with Greece. Through strengthening exchanges and cooperation and jointly realizing revitalization, China and Greece as two ancient civilizations will not only bring benefits to peoples of the two countries, but also have a positive impact on the world peace and development. Serving as Ambassador to Greece, he is in great honor and deeply aware of the heavy responsibility, and is willing to do his best to promote the development of the bilateral relations.
