Foreign Ministry of Egypt Issues Statement Condemning Violent Terrorist Attack in Kunming on March 1

On March 4, 2014, H.E. Song Aiguo, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, held telephone talks with Ahmed Ismail Abdel Moaty, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of Egypt. They exchanged views on serious and violent terrorist attack in Kunming on March 1 and the counter-terrorism issue.

On the same day, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement, announcing that the Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the terrorist attack in China's Kunming on March 1, which has caused severe casualties. The Egyptian side thus extended its condolences to families of the victims and the injured in the terrorist attack. It stressed that the Egyptian government and people fully support the Chinese government and people to firmly fight against terrorist and extremist forces.
