On 15 September 2014, Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan got an inclusive interview by People.cn's 'Walking the New Silk Road' delegation and answered questions about the development of China Myanmar relationship and Myanmar's participation in the cooperational initiations such as 'One Belt and One Road'(OBOR, Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road) and 'BCIM Economic Corridor'.

Ambassador Yang said, China and Myanmar are friendly neighbors, locate to each other very closely and enjoy traditionally friendship for a long time in history. For a quite long time, China and Myanmar have kept very good momentum in the development of the exchange in the field of politics, economy and society. With Myanmar's deep transition going on, the prospect of cooperation between the two countries will continuously move in positive direction.

Ambassador Yang stressed, it is of historic significance to propose such mechanisms of economic corridors like OBOR and BCIM. As China's good neighbor, Myanmar has the advantage and unique role in building such mechanisms. Myanmar government and all societies keep an active attitude toward participating in the relative cooperations. OBOR and BCIM construction is conducive to providing mutual benefit and building political trust, as well as facilitating win-win relations and long-term progress for China and Myanmar, and is bound to benefit both peoples.
