China-Aid Medical Supplies Handed Over to Grenada

On June 23rd, the handover ceremony of China-Aid Medical Supplies was held at the Ministerial Complex, St. George's. H.E. Dr. Zhao Yongchen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Grenada handed over a batch of Medical supplies to the Government of Grenada on behalf the Chinese Government. The donation includes a real time PCR system and relative equipment. Hon. Peter David, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Norland Cox, Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture & the Arts also attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Zhao Yongchen said, after the outbreak of the pandemic, China and Grenada have been standing together and working together. China has given strong support to Grenada, shared anti-epidemic experience and already provided 3 batches of medical material assistance. It fully reflects the great friendship between China and Grenada. Currently, Grenada is making achievement in the field of epidemic prevention but still facing challenges in economy recovery. He firmly believes that the people of Grenada will gain the victory over COVID-19 and revive the economy.

Hon. Peter David expressed sincere thanks to the Chinese government and people on behalf of the government and people of Grenada and Prime Minister Keith Mitchell. This batch of medical supplies is absolutely essential for Grenada, which will strengthen the ability to test. China was the first hit by the COVID-19, but China has controlled the epidemic in a short period, and shared the precious first-hand experience with Grenada as well as provided needed medical supplies, which played an important role in Grenada's fighting against epidemic. This fully illustrates China is an extremely reliable ally to Grenada.
