Such practices have proven that China made the right choice in fighting against the virus. Now the outbreak is overall under control in the country, however, sporadic cases and complicated imported cases reported in some areas alert us to the cunning nature of the novel coronavirus. In this regard, China hasmaintained high vigilance and therefore taken more scientific responsive strategies to prevent the virus resurgence.

Ambassador Li then elaborated China's contributions in advancing international cooperation against COVID-19 with vivid examples and detailed statistics. Firstly, after the emergence of the virus, China identified the novel coronavirus in record time, publicized and shared key information including the genome sequencing of the virus with the WHO and other countries including the US in a timely manner. In addition, China rolled out lockdown and other strict measures. All these sounded alarm across the world, and bought time for other countries to prepare. Secondly, China actively conducted extensive online exchanges on COVID-19 response with the international community. It shared its experience with all countries without any reservation by organizing over 100 video meetings with experts from other countries and opening an online knowledge center.Thirdly, China launched the largest global emergency humanitarian campaign since the founding of New China, by providing assistance to over 160 countries and international organizations and sending 36 medical teams to 34 countries.Fourthly, being the first to tackle the outbreak, China quickly restored its production capacity of supplies, and provided other countries with over 220 billion masks, 2.25 billion protective suits and 1.2 billion testing kits. Fifthly, China joined COVAX to honor its commitment to make Chinese COVID-19 vaccines a global public good.

As for the anti-epidemic cooperation between China and Kuwait, Ambassador Li noted that the two heads of state, after the epidemic broke out, immediately exchanged letters and messages to affirm mutual support and desire to strengthen cooperation. As the old saying goes "true friendship reveals itself through adversity", Kuwait's heart-warming support ofdonating 3 million US dollars of material assistance to China fully demonstrates profound friendship between the two countries. To assist Kuwait's epidemic response, China hosted several expert meetings, and dispatched a medical expert team to Kuwait to carry out field-based cooperation. China also activelyfacilitated and provided support to Kuwait for transporting needed supplies from China, and the majority of Kuwait's supplies comes from China.
