Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Jianghao Attends the Reception in Celebration of Nigeria's National Day

On October 9, 2021, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Jianghao attended the reception celebrating Nigeria's Independence Day hosted by the Nigerian Embassy in China, and exchanged views with Nigerian Ambassador to China Baba Ahmad Jidda on bilateral relations.

Wu Jianghao extended congratulations on the 61st anniversary of Nigeria's independence, and said that in the past 50 years since China and Nigeria established diplomatic relations, the two sides have always respected and trusted each other and bilateral ties have grown vigorously. China stands ready to work with Nigeria to broaden cooperation in an innovative way, and advance the all-round and in-depth development of China-Nigeria strategic partnership.

Jidda said that Nigeria and China enjoy traditional friendship with deepened cooperation in all fields, and China has become Nigeria's most important economic and trade partner. Nigeria is willing to work with China to take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries this year to achieve new progress in bilateral relations.
