Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Speaks with U.S. Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley on the Phone

On November 3, 2021, Vice Foreign  Minister Ma Zhaoxu had a phone conversation with U.S. Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley at the latter's request, and both sides exchanged views on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Ma Zhaoxu said, the Iranian nuclear situation is now at a critical juncture. Relevant parties should make joint efforts to respond to Iran's legitimate and reasonable concerns, and adopt a positive and pragmatic attitude to push for the resumption of negotiations and make progress along the right track.

Malley briefed the views and  position of the U.S. side on the Iranian nuclear situation. He hopes to maintain communication with China to push for an early resumption of the Iranian nuclear negotiations and achieve results.

The two sides agreed to maintain communication on relevant issues.
