On November 30, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister and National Coordinator of China of the China-CELAC Forum Ma Zhaoxu and Deputy Foreign Minister of Mexico Carmen Moreno Toscano co-chaired the Meeting of National Coordinators of China-CELAC Forum. Mexico is now the rotating presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Ma Zhaoxu said that since the COVID-19 breakout, China and Latin American and the Caribbean countries have helped and supported each other, worked together to fight the pandemic and demonstrated the essence of the China-CELAC community with a shared future with practical actions. At present, the combination of centennial volatility and the pandemic are threatening the world's economic development and people's well-being. Taking the opportunity of the upcoming third Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, China will work with CELAC to respond to the challenges, create possibilities, add new impetus into overall China-CELAC cooperation and the development of China-CELAC relations and jointly build the China-CELAC community with a shared future.

The Meeting of National Coordinators discussed issues related to the third Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum as a part of the preparation works for the Ministerial Meeting. The CELAC side expressed that it attaches great importance to the forum and will join hands with China to promote China-CELAC cooperation in the new era. Both sides will make joint efforts to make the Ministerial Meeting a great success.
