China and Mongolia Hold the Sixth Strategic Dialogue Between the Foreign Ministries

On December 23, 2021, Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Munkhjin Batsumber held the Sixth Strategic Dialogue Between the Foreign Ministries via video link.

The two sides agreed that China and Mongolia, connected by mountains and rivers, share weal and woe. It is an inevitable choice for both sides to maintain and develop bilateral relations. Respecting each other's core interests and major concerns and respecting the development paths chosen by both peoples are the fundamental principle and the most significant basis of bilateral relations. China stressed that it has always put China-Mongolia relations at a critical position in its neighborhood diplomacy. Mongolia emphasized that it has always considered the development of relations with China as a priority in its foreign policies.

The two sides made positive comments on the fruitful results of the two countries' fight against COVID-19 and exchanges and cooperation in various fields. Both sides agreed to enhance high-level exchanges and political communication, deepen cooperation on pandemic response and development, advance regional and multilateral cooperation, enhance the friendship between the two peoples, and strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation, to inject new energy into mutual trust, friendship and cooperation between China and Mongolia, and lift the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.

China briefed the Mongolian side on the Global Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, and the Mongolian side said that it will actively support this initiative. The Mongolian side stressed that the issues concerning Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Xizang are China's internal affairs, and it has always firmly supported China's stance on these issues.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
