On January 18, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the China-SCO-Eurasia Youth Leaders Dialogue by delivering a video speech.

Le Yucheng said, this dialogue, themed "Together for a Shared Future", the motto of the Beijing Olympic Winter Games, aims to encourage young people from all over the world to uphold the Olympic spirit, show their youthful style, and devote themselves to the cause of non-governmental friendship among regional countries.

Le Yucheng pointed out, leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and Eurasian countries attach great importance to youth work and place ardent expectations on the growth and progress of the young generation. Against the backdrop of the persistent and unchecked pandemic and accelerating changes unseen in a century, young people from all over the world should always walk with their people, keep in mind the expectations of their countries' leaders, be ambitious and down-to-earth, bring their talent into play and make great contributions in the vivid practice of promoting their countries' development and revitalization and enhancing people's well-being. They should always keep pace with the society, grasp the opportunity of the development of modern science and technology, and learn hard to improve their capabilities, so as to become the pillar of social development and progress, render service to their countries with intelligence and wisdom, and make pioneering efforts to serve the society. They should always keep pace with the times, conform to the trend of the times, carry forward the "Shanghai Spirit", practice the values of equality, mutual learning, dialogue and mutual accommodation between civilizations, inherit the cause of good neighborliness and friendship, and contribute youthful strength to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Le Yucheng said, the Olympic flame will be lit in Beijing soon, and we will present a streamlined, safe and splendid Olympic festival to the world. We are looking forward to Olympic athletes outperforming themselves and making great achievements. We expect young people from all over the world to pay attention to and support the Winter Olympics, so as to make due contributions to enhancing friendship among countries and promoting people-to-people ties.

The dialogue was co-hosted by the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the SCO and China Daily. Youth representatives from more than 20 countries in the SCO and Eurasian region attended and addressed the dialogue online or offline.
