On August 1, 2022, Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao met with newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Chung Jae-ho.

Wu Jianghao welcomed Chung Jae-ho to China to take up the new post, noting that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the ROK 30 years ago, bilateral relations have witnessed all-round and rapid development, benefitting the two countries and two peoples and making important contributions to regional peace and stability. China is ready to work with the ROK to push for sustained, steady and long-term development of the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership.

Chung Jae-ho said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The ROK looks forward to working with China to draw up a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations in the next 30 years, strengthen communication and exchanges, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and enhance people-to-people friendship to promote continued development of ROK-China relations.
