Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li Meets with Outgoing Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohamed Elbadri

On August 17, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with outgoing Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohamed Elbadri.

Deng Li spoke positively of Elbadri's contributions to promoting China-Egypt relations, and exchanges and cooperation between China and Arab and African countries during his tenure as Ambassador to China, and expressed the hope that he will continue to care for and support the development of China-Egypt relations after his return to Egypt. Deng Li said that in the face of the complicated situation compounded by the combined impact of global changes and the pandemic, both unseen in a century, the Chinese side stands ready to work with the Egyptian side to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, jointly promote democracy in international relations, and safeguard legitimate rights and interests of developing countries.

Elbadri thanked the Chinese side for the support and facilitation accorded him during his tenure of office in China, and emphasized that the Egyptian side will continue to stand firmly with the Chinese side on issues concerning China's core interests, deepen cooperation with China in various fields, and work for a more just and equitable international order.
