Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li Holds Political Consultation via Video Link with Secretary General Tore Hattrem of the Foreign Ministry of Norway

On September 5, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li held a China-Norway Political Consultation at Vice Foreign Ministerial Level with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Tore Hattrem via video link.

Deng Li expressed, China and Norway have witnessed close high-level exchanges and sound development of bilateral relations in this year. China appreciates Norway's commitment to the one-China policy, and stands ready to work with Norway to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, deepen cooperation in fields of economy, trade, ocean, agricultural and fishery products, energy transition and environmental protection, and promote the steady development of bilateral relations on the right course. During Norway's non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council from 2021 to 2022, China and Norway have maintained sound communication in multilateral fields. China is ready to continue its work with Norway to strengthen cooperation on important issues such as global development and food security, jointly safeguard true multilateralism and economic globalization, and advance the cause of world peace and development.

Hattrem said, Norway has been and will continue to be committed to the one-China policy. Norway appreciates China's efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and promoting sustainable development, attaches great importance to the communication and coordination between the two countries in the Security Council and other multilateral organizations, and stands ready to continue to explore bilateral and multilateral cooperation with China in shipping, maritime affairs, public health, climate action and other fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis, the Myanmar issue, the Afghan issue, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and other international and regional hotspot issues.
