Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng Meets with Argentine Ambassador to China Sabino Vaca Narvaja

On October 25, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng met with Argentine Ambassador to China Sabino Vaca Narvaja.

Xie Feng first briefed him on the epoch-making significance, important outcomes, and far-reaching influence of the 20th CPC National Congress, and expressed thanks to Argentine President Alberto Fernández for being among the first to send a congratulatory message on the successful convening of the 20th CPC National Congress and on President Xi Jinping's election as General Secretary of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

Noting the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Argentina this year, Xie Feng remarked that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Argentina relations have continuously deepened with many highlights. Both sides have advanced the Belt and Road cooperation at faster pace, and successfully held the China-Argentina Friendship and Cooperation Year 2022. China stands ready to work with Argentina to continue to implement the important common understanding reached between the two heads of state, to jointly safeguard each other's core interests, carry forward the traditional friendship from generation to generation, practice true multilateralism, and push China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.

Sabino Vaca Narvaja said that the 20th National Congress of the CPC is of great significance for China and the whole world, and has drawn a strategic blueprint for China's long-term development. He noted that while driving high-quality development through scientific and technological innovation, China is advancing rural revitalization on the basis of its great success in eradicating absolute poverty, in a bid to deliver common prosperity and ensure the benefits of development will reach everyone in the country; this Chinese path to modernization and development deserves to be carefully studied and is well worth learning from. He expressed the belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China will surely be able to realize the Second Centenary Goal as scheduled. Narvaja also noted that since the beginning of this year, the two heads of state have maintained close contacts and guided the high-level development of Argentina-China relations. The Argentine side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to further deepen exchanges and cooperation across the board, and push for greater achievements in the development of bilateral relations.
