The six countries uphold multilateralism and regional economic integration, which represents the way forward, making LMC a "golden model" of sub-regional cooperation with the most achievements, vitality and potential, as recognized by all parties, and also bringing tangible benefits to the people of the sub-regional countries.

Wu Jianghao stressed that last month, the Communist Party of China successfully convened its 20th National Congress. China will, as always, act on the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness and the foreign policy of forging friendships and partnerships with its neighbors, provide new opportunities for the world with its new development, and continue to inject positive energy into world peace and development.

Wu Jianghao hopes that the six countries will follow the original aspiration of "sharing the same river and a common future" for cooperation, focus on development, cooperation and people's livelihood, jointly build a high-quality Belt and Road demonstration zone, a pilot zone for the Global Development Initiative and an experimental zone for the Global Security Initiative, constantly take the LMC to new levels and write a new chapter in the common development and prosperity of sub-regional countries.

The Eminent Persons Forum on Lancang-Mekong Cooperation was proposed by China at the Seventh Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting and gained unanimous support from Mekong countries.
