On November 6, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang exchanged congratulatory messages with Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi of Samoa to warmly celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Samoa.

Li Keqiang pointed out in the congratulatory message that since the establishment of the diplomatic relations 40 years ago, China and Samoa have always respected and supported each other, and devoted to mutually beneficial cooperation and common development. The development of China-Samoa relations has brought tangible benefits to both peoples and bilateral relations have become a model for the relations between China and the Pacific Island countries. China is willing to work with Samoa to constantly deepen friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation, and further advance the bilateral strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi said in his congratulatory message that the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is an important historical moment for bilateral relations.
