China-US Interim Strategic Security Dialogue Held in Beijing

On October 29, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui and Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken of the US co-hosted the China-US Interim Strategic Security Dialogue in Beijing, during which they exchanged candid and in-depth views on China-US relations and strategic security issues of common concern. Speaking positively of the important and constructive role of the China-US Strategic Security Dialogue mechanism in promoting mutual trust, expanding cooperation and handling divergences since its establishment 6 years ago, the two sides agreed to ensure the continuity of this mechanism so that both sides could maintain communication on relevant issues and push forward the construction of a positive and healthy strategic security relationship between the two countries.
