Vice Premier Li Keqiang Meets with Russian Guest

On March 22, 2012, Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with Director of the Russian Presidential Administration Bureau Vladimir Kozhin in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

Li said China and Russia are each other's largest neighbors. Li hailed the sound development of China-Russia ties in recent years, citing fruitful cooperation in multiple areas. Developing long-lasting and stable good-neighborly friendly cooperative ties meets the fundamental interests of both countries and their people and also facilitates world peace, stability and prosperity, he said. China has always attached importance to developing relations with Russia from a strategic and long-term perspective and regards developing ties with Russia as one of its greatest diplomatic priorities, Li said. China is ready to work with Russia to push for greater development of bilateral ties.

"Both China and Russia are in an important period of strategic opportunity featuring development and revitalization and face similar global environment and challenges," said the vice premier. Pragmatic cooperation between both sides has broad space. He expressed hope that the two countries will strengthen exchanges at all levels, deepen cooperation in such fields as trade, energy, science, technology and localities, and continuously expand cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts to achieve mutual benefit and a win-win situation.

Kozhin expressed willingness to enhance exchanges and cooperation with relevant departments of China in order to share experience and learn from each other.

Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council and Director-General of the Government Offices Administration of the Sate Council Jiao Huancheng and other officials attended the meeting.
