From April 19 to 20, 2018, the 15th meeting on the implementation of the Agreement on Management and Cooperation in China-Myanmar Border Areas at departmental level was held in Beijing. The Head of the Chinese delegation is Director General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Yi Xianliang. And the Head of the delegation of Myanmar is Advisor at Myanmar President Office Maung Weik, and its Deputy Head is Director General of Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Soe Han of Myanmar. Representatives from China's departments related to diplomacy, national defense, public security, commerce, customs, port and forestry, and from Myanmar's departments related to diplomacy, internal affairs, national defense, environmental protection and immigration, as well as from border provinces and areas of both countries were present.

Both sides exchanged in-depth views and reached extensive consensus on such topics as bilateral relations, the "Belt and Road" construction, the implementation of the Agreement, the improvement of mechanisms on border management, the joint inspection in border areas, the implementation of the functions of border pass, the cooperation in law enforcement and security in border areas, the border river bank protection projects, the cross-border economic cooperation, and the forest fire prevention in border areas.

After the meeting, both sides signed the minutes.
