Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Finland, Denmark and Mexico Offer Condolences, Aid to Quake-hit China

Aid has continued to flow into China from abroad in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit southwest China's Sichuan Province on May 12.

Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Michael Thomas Somare expressed condolences to China and the government has decided to offer 500,000 U.S. dollars in aid.

Pakistan's Punjab Province donated 3,500 tents to China.

The government of Finland donated 1,000 military tents to China.

The Danish Red Cross will provide tents to the quake-hit regions and set up a large tent camp for the International Committee of the Red Cross to carry out relief work.

The parliament of the central Mexican state of Mexico has adopted a resolution to express condolences to the Chinese people and all the parliament members have donated 400,000 pesos (about 40,000 dollars) for the disaster-hit regions.
