On August 18, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Senior Vice President of ExxonMobil Jack P. Williams and his delegation.

Ma Zhaoxu pointed out that currently, China's economy is experiencing a sustained rebound with strong resilience, ample potential and strong vitality, and the fundamentals sustaining China's sound economic growth in the long run stay unchanged. China will continue to promote institutional opening-up, which will provide a broader development space for American companies, including ExxonMobil. Chinese modernization benefits not only China but also the world.

Jack P. Williams said that ExxonMobil has been operating in China for more than 130 years and will continue to explore the Chinese market, expand cooperation with China, and contribute to boosting economic and trade relations between the United States and China.
