Wang Yi: The Chinese Side Is Willing to Fully Support the Kyrgyz Side in Well Hosting the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)

On May 21, 2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed that the Chinese side is willing to fully support the Kyrgyz side, the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), in well hosting the SCO Bishkek Summit in June when jointly meeting the press with Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov of Kyrgyzstan after their talks in Bishkek.

Wang Yi said that tomorrow, the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO will be held, which will make political preparation for the Summit. We will gather political consensus, promote the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind and support the building of an open world economy. We will strengthen internal solidarity, continue to advocate the Shanghai Spirit and push the mechanism building of the SCO for in-depth and solid progress. We will focus on practical cooperation, accelerate the negotiation on the SCO Trade Facilitation Agreement, and advance regional economic integration. We will deepen security cooperation, conform to the new changes and new challenges in the security situation in the region, work together to crack down on the "three forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism and create a favorable development environment.

Wang Yi expressed that both as founding member state of the SCO, China and Kyrgyzstan will reinforce coordination and cooperation to promote the SCO for new progress. The Chinese side is willing to fully support the Kyrgyz side in well hosting the SCO Bishkek Summit.
