Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying Meets with Hong Kong SAR's NPC Deputies and CPPCC Members

On March 10, 2010, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying met with a number of the National People’s Congress (NPC) deputies and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) members of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), including Rita Fan, member of the NPC Standing Committee and Leung Chun-ying, member of the CPPCC National Committee. Fu introduced the current international situation, China’s diplomatic work and Hong Kong-related diplomatic work, saying that the foreign ministry will, as always, support the Hong Kong SAR in expanding foreign exchanges, protect the legitimate rights and interests of Hong Kong compatriots abroad and maintain and promote Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability. The deputies and members thanked the foreign ministry for its long-term support and assistance to the Hong Kong SAR and said that they are willing to actively play their part to support the Hong Kong-related diplomatic work and China’s general diplomatic work.
