Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying Visits Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions

From July 11 to 13, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying visited Hong Kong and Macao and inspected the Commissioner's Offices of the Foreign Ministry. During the stay, Fu also visited the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Vice Chairmen Tung Chee-hwa and Edmund Ho and met with Chief Executive of Hong Kong Donald Tsang and Chief Executive of Macau Chui Sai On. Fu thanked the governments of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SAR) for their full support for the work of the Foreign Ministry and the Commissioner's Offices and shared views on how to further step up communications and collaboration with the SAR governments and support them in expanding their external exchanges and cooperation.

During the visit, Fu made report on the international situation to the delegates of the Commissioner's Offices and the Liaison Offices of the Central People's Government, delivered a speech entitled China's Peaceful Development – the Relationship between China and the West and the Role of Hong Kong in the Post-Crisis Era to the dinner hosted by Asia Society and the Better Hong Kong Foundation and held talks with the senior public servants of the Hong Kong SAR government and people from all walks of life of the Macao SAR.
