From January 14 to 19, 2018, at the invitation of the Foreign Ministry, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government Patrick Nip Tak-kuen led a delegation of Hong Kong SAR government officials to visit the mainland.

During their stay in Beijing, Director-General of the Department of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Feng Tie held a work communication with the delegation of Hong Kong SAR government officials. Director-General of the Policy Planning Department Sun Weidong, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs Wu Jianghao and Director-General of the Information Department Lu Kang met with the delegation respectively, introducing the international situation and China's foreign policies, the relations between China and its neighboring countries, the Foreign Ministry spokesman mechanism and other topics.

The delegation of Hong Kong SAR government officials also visited Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the State Council Information Office. The delegation also went to Hangzhou and Yiwu of Zhejiang Province to investigate and get to know the situation of local social and economic development.
