On July 29, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Teresa Cheng, who was on a visit to Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on such topics as implementing the principle of "one country, two systems" as well as the basic law, Hong Kong-related diplomacy, treaties and laws, and supporting Hong Kong SAR in building itself into a leading center for international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia-Pacific Region.
