On the afternoon of June 14, 2001, Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov, Kyrghyz Foreign Minister Muratbek Yemanaliyev, Tajik Foreign Minister Talbak Nazarov and Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, who are in Shanghai to attend the meeting of heads of states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The foreign ministers had an extensive exchange of views on regional and international issues of common concern and signed the Interim Rules of Procedure for the Council of Coordinators of SCO Member States.
