International Security and Arms Control Situation

2010-05-27 00:00

Currently, the international security situation is continuously undergoing profound and complicted changes. Peace and development are still the main stream of the times, and the trend of multipolarization is irreversible. Meanwhile, traditional and non-traditional security threats remain serious challenges to international and regional security. Differences still exist among various parties on the priority of the agenda of multilateral arms control, and the international non-proliferation situation remains rigorous.

In a world of globalization, countries share weal and woe, and should follow a new security concept featuring mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and cooperation, promote international arms control process jointly, and deal with non-proliferation issues by political and diplomatic means. China has all along actively supported and participated in the international arms control and non-proliferation process, and is willing to work with all other countries to make due contributions to enhanceing international peace and security.
