Nuclear Security Summit

On April 12-13, 2010, the Nuclear Security Summit was held in Washington. H.E. Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, attended the Summit and made an important statement. The Nuclear Security Summit process has deepened the international consensus and cooperation on nuclear security and is conducive to the sound and sustainable development of global nuclear energy.

China attaches great importance to the issue of nuclear security, opposes nuclear proliferation and nuclear terrorism, and supports relevant international cooperation. China has taken strict and effective nuclear security measures and maintained a good record in this field. China supports the participating states to take concrete measures to implement the Washington Summit outcome documents.

The Second Nuclear Security Summit will be held in Seoul, Republic of Korea in 2012. China is willing to work with all participating states to facilitate the Summit to produce positive outcome.
