Information Security

2010-05-27 00:00

Information security bears on international security and stability, as well as national economy and people's livelihood. Under the new circumstances with multiple security threats, rising non-traditional security factors and increasingly rampant international terrorism activities, information security has become an important issue in the field of international security. It serves the common interest of all countries and is also the common responsibility of the international community to appropriately address the issue of information security and maintain international security and stability.

China always holds that the United Nations is the appropriate forum to address the issue of information security. China supports the UN General Assembly and the UN Group of Governmental Experts on Information Security to continue their comprehensive and in-depth studies on the threats and challenges in the field of information security and come up with reasonable and feasible measures in this regard in the context of international security and arms control. China believes that as long as all countries face up to the existing problems and demonstrate due political will, the international community will be able to gather consensus and find appropriate means to deal with threats and challenges in the field of information security at an early stage.
