On July 5, 2017, Deputy Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Zhang Yiming accepted the copy of credentials presented by newly-appointed French Ambassador to China Jean-Maurice Ripert. Jean-Maurice Ripert once served as Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations, UN Under-Secretary-General and other posts. He was appointed as French Ambassador to Russia from 2013 to 2017.
