Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado of Brazil

On Sept. 27, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado of Brazil on the sidelines of the general debate of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the United States.

Wang Yi expressed that in recent years, China-Brazil relations have enjoyed remarkable development, with increasingly enhanced strategic and overall influence. China is ready to work with Brazil to continue to keep close high-level exchanges, to actively boost practical cooperation in major fields, to further strengthen strategic cooperation in major international affairs, so as to push forward China-Brazil relations to a higher level.

Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado expressed that Brazil attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is ready to work with China to make Brazil-China comprehensive strategic partnership contribute more to pushing forward the economic and social development of the two countries.

Both sides as well exchanged views on strengthening BRICS cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
