The Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Organizes Diplomatic Envoys of Latin American and Caribbean Countries to China to Visit Henan for an Inspection Tour

From May 31 to June 2, 2018, Director-General of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhao Bentang led the working group to accompany diplomatic envoys of Latin American and Caribbean Countries to China to visit Henan for an inspection tour. A total of 23 people from 15 Latin American countries' diplomatic agencies in China participated in the activity, including 7 ambassadors and 3 chargés d'affaires ad interim.

During their stay in Henan, Secretary of Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China Wang Guosheng and Governor of the People's Government of Henan Chen Runer jointly met with the delegation of diplomatic envoys. Vice Governor of the People's Government of Henan He Jinping attended the symposium on cooperation between Henan and Latin American and Caribbean countries. During their stay in Luoyang, Mayor Liu Wankang and Vice Mayor Hu Henglu attended the promotion conference presenting Luoyang. In addition, the delegation also visited Henan Bonded Logistics Center, Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd., CITIC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., YTO Group Corporation and other special enterprises that have conducted much cooperation with Latin America, as well as famous local cultural landscapes such as Shaolin Temple and Longmen Grottoes.

Through inspection, diplomatic envoys from Latin American and Caribbean countries had a deep understanding of Henan's long-standing and splendid history and culture, its development achievements in recent years as well as its cooperation situation with Latin American and Caribbean countries. Relevant diplomatic envoys said that Henan has made remarkable achievements in the construction of the Silk Road, the Air Silk Road and the Online Silk Road, which will provide strong support for promoting cooperation between Latin American and Caribbean countries and Henan and push forward the complete implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative in Latin America.
