Envoys of Latin American and Caribbean Countries Laud Xinjiang as a Wonderful Land

On May 14, 2021, envoys of Latin American and Caribbean countries who are vising Xinjiang said, through the various activities during this trip organized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such as the visit to mosques, local companies, the Agricultural Expo Park, and the anti-terrorism and de-extremism exhibition, they were able to have close contact with the local people, and to experience the stability, development and progress of Xinjiang firsthand.

Ambassadors from Cuba, Venezuela, Columbia and the Bahamas said that terrorism,separatism and extremism are the common challenges to the whole world. They fully understand and support the efforts of the Chinese government to crack down terrorism and curb extremism, and believe that vocational education and training centers have played an important role in eliminating terrorism and extremism in Xinjiang. Cuban Ambassador to China said that Xinjiang is an indispensable part of China and Cuba strongly opposes the "double standard" of Western countries led by the United States, and is against the politicization of the Xinjiang issues as well as the smearing of China under the guise of human rights.

Ambassadors or senior diplomats from Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and other countries said that Xinjiang is a vast land with abundant resources and prominent advantages in infrastructure construction, modern farming, and clean energy. The appreciated the Chinese government's tremendous efforts to protect the traditional cultures, ethnic languages, religious beliefs and customs and norms of different ethnic groups for the development and prosperity of Xinjiang. The remarkable achievements of lifting Xinjiang out of poverty in particular provided an example to be followed by Latin American and Caribbean countries. The envoys said they will actively enhance the communication between the enterprises of their countries with Xinjiang to deepen practical cooperation in such fields of wind power, agriculture with distinctive local characteristics and transmission and transformation equipment.

23 envoys or senior diplomats from 19 Latin American and Caribbean countries attended the trip to Xinjiang.
