On November 19, 2021, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended the reception for the 200th anniversary of the victory in the Mexican War of Independence and the welcoming of Mexican Ambassador to China, which was held by the Mexican Embassy in China.

Qiu Xiaoqi, on behalf of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, congratulated Mexico on the 200th anniversary of its victory in the War of Independence and said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, China-Mexico relations have developed rapidly and achieved fruitful results. In the next stage, the two sides should take the opportunity of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mexico diplomatic relations next year to push for greater development of bilateral relations.

Jesus Seade extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of the sixth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He said that he is honored to take up the post of Ambassador to China. Mexico will work with China to grandly celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
