On November 25, 2021, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the sixth "Chile Week". Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen delivered remarks via video link. Special Envoy of the Chilean Government on Asia-Pacific Affairs and Former President Eduardo Frei, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolina Valdivia Torres of Chile and others attended the event via video link.

Qiu Xiaoqi said, Chile is an important cooperative partner for China in Latin America. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Sebastián Piñera, China and Chile have continuously deepened political mutual trust, delivered fruitful outcomes in the cooperation of such fields as economy, trade, culture and people-to-people exchanges, and brought benefits to the two peoples. China and Chile have jointly fought against the COVID-19, setting an example for international anti-pandemic cooperation. In the new stage, both sides need to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and promote sustained China-Chile relations at a high level. Qiu Xiaoqi spoke positively of the "Chile Week" event in playing an active role in promoting economic and trade cooperation and friendly people-to-people exchanges between China and Chile. He wishes the event a great success.
