From April 24 to 25, 2023, Special Envoy for Pacific Island Countries Affairs of the Chinese Government Qian Bo visited Samoa, during which he met with Samoan Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Afioga Fiame Naomi Mataafa, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Papali’i Li’o Taeu Masipa’u and Chief Executive Officer of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peseta Noumea Simi respectively. Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, practical cooperation and international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.
