Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Xi Delivers Video Remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Mongolian Consulate in Manzhouli

On November 29, 2022, the Mongolian Consulate in Manzhouli held the opening ceremony, at which Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Xi as well as State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ankhbayar Nyamdorj and Mongolian Ambassador to China Tuvshin Badral delivered video remarks respectively. The Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region sent a congratulatory letter on behalf of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Mayor of Manzhouli Yue Guodong and Consul and Head of Post of Mongolian Consulate in Manzhouli Ya. Ganbaatar unveiled the nameplate for the opening of the consulate.

Director-General Wu Xi delivered remarks on behalf of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, actively introduced the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and stressed that the CPC is rallying and leading the Chinese people to promote national rejuvenation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization, which will not only bring prosperity and development to China itself, but also create more opportunities for the world and bring more benefits to people around the world. Wu Xi said that in recent years, China-Mongolia relations have witnessed sound development with frequent high-level exchanges between the two sides, which reflects the high level of bilateral relations. President Xi Jinping held talks with President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, who was on a state visit to China. The two sides reached important consensus on promoting the development of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership, charting the course for the future development of bilateral relations. She believes that the establishment of the Mongolian Consulate in Manzhouli will further expand exchanges and cooperation between China and Mongolia at a sub-national level, improve Mongolia's consular services in China, and continuously enrich bilateral relations. The Chinese Foreign Ministry is ready to provide convenience and assistance for the work of the consulate.

In the speech, the Mongolian side spoke highly of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and China, and thanked the Chinese side for providing great assistance for the opening of the Mongolian Consulate in Manzhouli. The Mongolian side hopes that through the establishment of the consulate, the friendly cooperation between the Mongolian side and the consular district in the fields of economy, trade, culture and tourism could be further deepened, so as to continuously push forward bilateral relations.
