2023-04-23 18:36

Since the sudden change of the situation in Sudan, the armed conflicts keep going in the capital city of Khartoum and many other places. Chinese citizens and institutions in Sudan, particularly in the Khartoum region, have been faced with serious safety risks.

The CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to the safety and security of Chinese citizens and institutions in Sudan, and General Secretary Xi Jinping made important instructions on strengthening the protection of the safety and security of Chinese citizens and institutions in Sudan. The Foreign Ministry, with all relevant departments, local governments, and the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, has worked around the clock to resolutely implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, as to "serve the people through diplomatic work". They closely follow the situation,  formulate all work plans, and keep close contact with Chinese compatriots in Sudan, release consular notices, communicate constantly with relevant parties of Sudan, and try every means to protect the lives, properties and safety of  1,500 plus Chinese compatriots in Sudan, and have truly passed on the heartfelt care of the CPC Central Committee.

Khartoum and other places still see incessant gun shots and shell bombings, with greater threats of stray bullets, and increased vandalizing cases. Chinese citizens in Sudan, and particularly in the region of Khartoum, should closely follow the security situation of their resident places and notices released by the Chinese Embassy in Sudan, remain calm, stay on high alert, and well prepared all the time. Don’t hesitate to contact the Embassy whenever necessary and the Embassy will work all out for assistance and help.
