External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping Meets with Kazakh Ambassador to China

On June 12, 2020, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Kazakh Ambassador to China Gabit Koishibayev, exchanging views on bilateral relations and security cooperation between the two countries.

Cheng Guoping said, the long-lasting friendly relations between China and Kazakhstan and the good results in recent bilateral cooperation in COVID-19 response have showcased the high-level feature and particularity of China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership. As cooperation in security constitutes an important part of China-Kazakhstan relations, the Chinese side is willing to make joint efforts with the Kazakh side to deepen cooperation in this regard to safeguard the security and stability of both countries and the region.

Gabit Koishibayev noted, the Kazakh side attaches great importance to its relations with China. Though the pandemic has affected exchanges between the two countries, the two sides can maintain communication through phone calls, video links and other means. The Kazakh side is prepared to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in economy, trade, security and other fields and push bilateral relations for more achievements.
