Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs Xu Hong Leads Delegation to London for Consultation on International Law and Maritime Law Affairs Between Chinese Foreign Ministry and UK FCO

From November 16 to 17, 2017, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs Xu Hong led a delegation to London. He held 2017 consultation on international law and maritime law affairs between Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the UK with Legal Advisor at the FCO Iain MacLeod and Deputy Legal Advisor at the FCO Andrew Murdoch of the UK respectively. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on some important international law and maritime law affairs including the "Belt and Road" initiative, international judicial institutions, judicial and law enforcement cooperation, the domestic implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on sanctions, the understanding and application of United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, international seabed, and marine biological diversity beyond areas of national jurisdiction.
