Ministry of Foreign Affairs Holds Series of Seminars on International Law for Macao SAR

From December 11 to 12, 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a series of seminars on international law for Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). Combining with the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Director-General Xu Hong and Director Liu Xiaoyan of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Counsellor of the Department of Policy Planning Yang Wen respectively gave three special seminars centering on immunity of international law, negotiation techniques for bilateral and multilateral treaties and the current international situation and China’s diplomacy.

Over 100 people, including legal staff from Secretariat for Administration and Justice and Secretariat for Security of the Macao SAR as well as relevant civil servants of public departments, attended the seminars. The seminars not only focus on the practical problems faced by the civil servants of the Macao SAR in their work, but also widen their international vision, which have strengthened their understanding and recognition of the country’s overall diplomacy, and been warmly acclaimed by the civil servants of the Macao SAR.
