On November 21, 2018, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Xu Hong and Legal Advisor at the Federal Foreign Office Christophe Eick of Germany held the 2018 Consultation on International Law between China and Germany in Beijing. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on the current situation and challenges of international law, the work of the International Law Commission, the legal cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the cooperation in the maritime law, judicial and law enforcement, the exchanges of international law think tanks and other matters.
