On December 1, 2020, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide and Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao SAR Government Cheong Weng Chon held annual consultations on Macao-related foreign affairs on treaty and law in Beijing. Personnel from the Foreign Ministry's Department of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Department of Arms Control and Office of the Commissioner in the Macao SAR, the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Transport, and the Secretariat for Administration and Justice and the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government attended the consultations.

Both sides reviewed new progress in Macao-related foreign affairs on treaty and law, and exchanged in-depth views on such topics as the application and compliance of multilateral treaties in the Macao SAR, judicial and law enforcement cooperation between the Macao SAR and foreign countries, and the Macao SAR's participation in projects concerning treaty and law. The two sides signed the Work Arrangement for Further Enhancing Cooperation on Foreign Affairs on Treaty and Law between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Macao SAR Government after the consultations.
