On July 29, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide and Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Teresa Cheng held consultations on Hong Kong-related treaties and laws in Beijing. Officials of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR, the Department of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of the Foreign Ministry and the Department of Justice of Hong Kong SAR attended the event.

The two sides reviewed the latest progress in Hong Kong-related treaties and laws, and exchanged in-depth views on such topics as building the Hong Kong SAR into a leading center for international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia-Pacific Region.
