A Brief Introduction about the Conclusion of Treaties between China and Other Countries

China concluded with other states and governments some 500 bilateral treaties, agreements and instruments which had all the features of treaties in the year 1999, among which there were 310 economic and trade agreements (including exchange of Notes), 45 financial and monetary agreements, 41 consular agreements and 9 instruments on legal matters. These treaties also cover , among others, the fields of culture, public health, science and technology, transportation and postal service. China also concluded 4 multilateral treaties in 1999. Besides, the H.K.S.A.R., under the authorisation of the Central Government, concluded 16 bilateral agreement.
