On December 9, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) held a briefing for the 12th "Love Knows No Borders" International Charity Sale. Director of the Women's Work Committee of the MFA Counselor Liu Xia introduced the preparations for the charity sale. Deputy Director of the MFA's Poverty Alleviation Office Sun Jing briefed on the conditions of the aided kids in Jinping County and Malipo County of Yunnan Province, as well as the implementation of the project last year.

The charity sale, initiated by Qian Wei, wife of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, is themed with "Love Knows No Borders - Flying Dreams". It is hosted by the MFA and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), and co-organized by Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the People's Government of Chaoyang District. The opening ceremony will be held in Beijing at 10 a.m. on December 12, 2020. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his wife, together with some foreign diplomatic envoys to China as well as Chinese representative entrepreneurs, will be present. Other foreign diplomatic envoys and representative entrepreneurs will attend through video links.

Given the COVID-19 control, online sale and live commerce are first adopted this year. Over 40 foreign embassies and representative offices of international organizations in China have registered for participation, and about 30 enterprises have made donations. The online charity sale will last for one week from 11 a.m. on December 12. The online charity sale webpage themed with "Offering Assistance through Consuming Products of Poverty Alleviation Flagship Store" will be set up on Taobao. The live commerce will be held on the evening of December 16. Some foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives from Jinping and Malipo will recommend products with streamers on the live streaming booth of "CCTV News" on Taobao. All the people are welcome to participate in the sale and show your love.

All the money raised in the activity will be used for the projects of caring for de facto unsupported children in Jinping and Malipo counties of Yunnan through the CFPA.
