On July 10, 2018, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi presided over the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum in Beijing. In his speech, Wang Yi said that we should adopt peaceful, fair, constructive and inclusive ways to deal with hotspot issues in the Middle East.

Wang Yi said that we should adhere to political settlement, promote negotiation and dialogue, and avoid a vicious circle of treating violence with violence.

We should persist in taking justice as the criterion and not making repressive compromises, and turn stability into lasting peace instead of turbulent interval.

We should persist in constructively controlling the situation, take into account the history and reality, and gradually create a general trend of stopping chaos and tending to a good prospect.

We should persist in taking care of the legitimate rights and interests of all parties, not engage in exclusive arrangements, and build an open and stable regional peace framework.
