Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from Foreign Ambassadors to China

On the afternoon of April 24, 2023, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by 70 ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People.

Beijing in April is bathed in spring breezes and glorious sunshine. Escorted by motorcycles, the diplomatic envoys successively arrived at the north gate of the Great Hall of the People. With guards of honor lining up on both sides outside the gate and trumpeters blowing horns to greet, the diplomatic envoys passed through the flag array and walked up the steps of the white marble stairs.

In front of the giant painting "The Land So Rich in Beauty", Xi Jinping accepted the credentials respectively presented by the envoys, and took photos with them one by one.

Xi Jinping also met with Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming.

While closing the credentialing ceremony, Xi Jinping delivered a speech to the envoys in the Beijing Hall.

Xi Jinping asked the envoys to convey his best wishes to the leaders of their respective countries and organizations and to their people as well. He pointed out that China is ready to deepen friendship and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with people of all countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, to continuously advance the development of bilateral relations. He expressed the hope that the diplomatic envoys will gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China, and will serve as messengers of friendship and bridges of cooperation. The Chinese government will provide support and facilitation for the diplomatic envoys to perform their duties.

Xi Jinping stressed that over the past three years, China, acting on the philosophy of putting people and their lives front and center, has gone through an extraordinary course of pandemic response. During this course, China has received sincere help from many countries and people. China has also fully supported global anti-pandemic efforts with concrete actions and worked with other countries to act on the vision of a global community of health for all, tightening the bonds of rendering mutual assistance and sharing weal and woe. China has embarked on a new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects, and will advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. China will follow the path of peaceful development, stay committed to its fundamental national policy of opening to the outside world, pursue a mutually beneficial strategy of opening up, and create more opportunities for the world with new advances in its own development. China is ready to work with the international community to follow through on the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, advocate humanity's common values, promote mutual understanding and affinity among people of all countries, jointly address various global challenges, and continuously move towards the goal of building a humanity community with a shared future.
