Wu Sike said that the Israel-Palestine conflicts continue to escalate and result in mass casualties. China is highly grieved and deeply concerned over this. China condemns any military action that leads to civilian deaths, and urges all parties concerned to prioritize the safety of the two peoples as well as regional peace and stability, and to cease fire immediately. China welcomes and commends the cease-fire initiative proposed by Egypt and would like to keep communication and coordination with the country. Wu Sike said that, as a strategic partner of Egypt, China is delighted to see the important progress made in political transition of Egypt and hopes that Egypt will make greater achievements in exploring a development path suitable for its own national conditions.

Zayed said that Egypt attaches great importance to the strategic and cooperative relations with China. The visit to Egypt paid by Special Envoy Wu Sike when the Palestinian issue is faced with a serious challenge is another embodiment for the bilateral strategic cooperation on the Middle East affairs. Egypt highly appreciates China's consistent position and firm support for the just cause of the Palestinian people and thanks China for its support on the cease-fire initiative of Egypt and welcomes China to play a greater role in the Palestinian issue.
